16-days of activism: Taraba govt to fight gender based violence

The Taraba state government says, all hands most be on deck in other to ensure that the state is a gender violence fee state.

The governor of the state, Dr. Agbu Kefas, represented by the Deputy Governor, Alh. Aminu Abdullahi Alkali stated this while playing host to women group after their walk from the PDP Secretariat to the TY DANJUMA Government House Jalingo, as part of their program of the 16 days of activism on gender based violence in Taraba State.

He congratulates the women for their successful outing of which they had a peaceful work, stressing that the need for a continues inclusion of women in governance is to tackle gender descrimination in service delivery.

In her welcome address, the commissioner for women Affairs and child development, Mrs Mary Sinjen said, the outing was designed to kick against gender based violence against women and children thereby saluting governor Agbu Kefas led administration for including women among his commissioners, and promised to justify the confidence reposed on them for the present administration.

In his remarks, the permanent secretary of the ministry of women and child development,Mr Eric Madu Juyoh applauded the state government for always attending to the plight of women and children in the state, stressing the continued efforts of the ministry for the betterment of women and children.
