The Lagos State Government has announced the commencement of the Eko Digital Training programme in Badagry and Ikorodu divisions, as part of efforts to deepen digital literacy and entrepreneurial skills among youths across the state.
Organised by the Ministry of Tertiary Education, the intensive five-day training will run from July 28 to August 1, 2025, at the Iba ICT Center in Ojo (Badagry Division) and Ikorodu Town Hall CBT Centre (Ikorodu Division).

Speaking at a press briefing in Ikeja on Wednesday, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr Tolani Sule, described the initiative as a demonstration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to educational advancement and youth development.
“This digital and entrepreneurial skills training is a tangible manifestation of our resolve to uphold excellence in tertiary education and ensure our young people are fully equipped to compete globally,” Sule said.

The training curriculum covers digital literacy, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, and an introduction to artificial intelligence, among other modern competencies critical for navigating today’s fast-evolving world.
“Participants will be taught by highly experienced instructors, and each centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that foster an optimal learning environment,” Sule added.

The programme follows earlier editions held in Yaba, Agege, and Epe, and is part of a broader state strategy to tackle youth unemployment by promoting self-sufficiency and innovation.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Adeniran Kasali, emphasised the long-term impact of investing in digital skills.
“Digital training is the bedrock of building a prosperous and globally competitive economy. This initiative will uplift the lives of our youth and all Lagosians in the long run,” Kasali said.

He encouraged young residents of Iba and Ikorodu to take advantage of the free training and seize the opportunity to build relevant skills for the future.
“We warmly invite all eligible youths in these divisions to actively participate and embrace the life-changing opportunities this training provides,” he added.
