The Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Hon. Segun Henry Omoyofunmi, has pledged full support for the Next-Gen Health Governance Project of the Get Healthy Africa Initiative (GHAi).

The assurance came earlier in the week during a courtesy visit by GHAi’s Executive Director, Faysol Oluwakemi, to the Commissioner’s office in Akure.

Oluwakemi, while presenting the objectives of the project, praised Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for what he described as “people-centred initiatives that continue to put the welfare of citizens first.” He also congratulated Omoyofunmi on his recent appointment, stressing that the project would empower young people and strengthen health governance structures in the state.

“The Next-Gen Health Governance Project is about equipping young people to play an active role in shaping health policies and ensuring stronger systems,” Oluwakemi explained.

In his response, Omoyofunmi commended GHAi for choosing Ondo State as a focus, describing the project as both “timely and impactful.”

“This initiative will go a long way in improving the lives of our young people. My office is committed to supporting GHAi in every way possible to ensure its success,” the Commissioner pledged.

The project, supported by the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), calls on youths, stakeholders, and partners in Ondo State to get actively involved to make it a shared success.
