Trinity University (TU), in partnership with Global Wissen Consult (GWC) and supported by the Embassy of Sweden, has certified 600 students in digital entrepreneurial skills to boost their employability and innovation capacity.
Speaking at the Certification and Award Ceremony in Yaba, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Kolawole, described the initiative as “innovative and forward-thinking,” noting that it reflects the students’ hard work and perseverance in mastering digital entrepreneurship and literacy.
“The partnership with GWC and the Swedish Embassy has provided our students with essential digital and entrepreneurial skills for today’s competitive world,” Kolawole said. “Exposure to modern digital tools and trends has enhanced their technical competence and empowered them to navigate the digital economy.”
He added that the collaboration had given students a global perspective, connecting them with digital innovators and entrepreneurs worldwide.
“As we celebrate this milestone, I congratulate our graduates and urge them to use their skills to create meaningful change in their chosen fields,” he said.

A symbolic highlight of the ceremony was the hoisting of Sweden’s flag on the university premises to represent the strong partnership between both institutions.
Kolawole noted that the flag symbolises Sweden’s values of innovation, sustainability, and technological advancement, principles that align with Trinity University’s mission.
“To our students, the Swedish flag reminds you that your skills form part of a global movement for innovation and progress,” he said. “As a university offering Political Science and International Relations, we are dedicated to fostering global partnerships and best practices.”
Also speaking, the Honorary Consul of Sweden in Lagos, Mr. Philip Akesson, urged the students to embrace digital transformation and continue building relevant skills.
“Invest your time in developing digital skills that will shape your future. The digital revolution belongs to everyone, not just those in tech,” Akesson said. “When Swedish and Nigerian ideas meet, focusing on innovation and problem-solving, great things happen.”
The Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of GWC, Mr. Oscar Nwokeji, said the programme was designed to empower students for remote work opportunities and economic growth.
“GWC will continue to provide guidance and support for students in job searches and entrepreneurial ventures,” Nwokeji assured.
The Managing Director of GWC, Ms. Natalie Sundelin, encouraged the graduates to clearly define their career paths and decide whether to apply their skills locally or remotely.
“Stay connected with the programme for continuous opportunities and professional support,” Sundelin advised.
