Nigerian sprinter Enoch Adegoke, a finalist in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic 100m, aims to make a comeback to the Nigerian team for the Paris 2024 Games after achieving a season’s best of 10.20s at the MTN Champs athletics meet in Ibadan.

Adegoke, who last ran at such speed nearly three years ago before exiting the Tokyo final due to injury on August 1, 2021, made a strong statement on Day 2 of the competition by clinching victory in the men’s 100m final.

Joining him on the podium were Adekalu Fakorede, a member of Nigeria’s 4x100m gold-winning team at the 2023 African Games, who secured second place with a personal best of 10.23s, and Olaolu Olatunde, who also achieved a new PB of 10.47s to claim third place.

Adegoke expressed his delight at the win, seeing it as a significant step towards his goal of representing Nigeria once again in Paris.
