After a fantastic start to the year, World Record holder Tobi Amusan is shifting her focus to the highly anticipated Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) National Trials in Benin City, Edo State.

Amusan, who has also achieved the quickest time in the women’s 100m hurdles this year, aims to better her record at the National Trials.

Other top athletes attending the event include sprinter Favour Ashe, the fastest Nigerian runner in the women’s 100m this year, National high jump record breaker Temitope Adeshina, and Favor Ofili.

According to Samuel Onikeku, Technical Director of the AFN, almost all foreign-based athletes have arrived in Nigeria for the event, which serves as a selection platform for the nation’s athletes competing in the African Senior Championships in Douala, Cameroon, and the Paris Olympics. The remaining athletes are expected to join the camp today.”
