Senator Ifeanyi Uba Passes Away.

Senator Ifeanyi Uba, representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, is dead.

The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil, Uba reportedly died in a hotel in London, United Kingdom, on Saturday.

Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu confirmed Uba’s death to the media, stating that the 52-year-old politician had passed on.

Uba was re-elected to the 10th Senate under the Young Peoples Party (YPP) but defected to the All Progressives Congress in 2023.

In September 2022, he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt when gunmen attacked his convoy on the way to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least five people, including two policemen, while Uba survived in his bulletproof vehicle.

He was the CEO of Capital Oil (CCO), which he founded in 2001. Capital oil facilities and outlets are situated mostly in Southeast and Southwest of Nigeria with one of the largest Tank farm for petroleum products storage and distribution in Lagos.
