Nigeria’s Super Falcons Knocked Out of Olympics After Third Straight Loss

The Super Falcons have been knocked out of the Olympics following a 3-1 defeat to Japan, marking their third loss in the tournament.

Jennifer Echegini scored Nigeria’s only goal in the 42nd minute, but Japan’s Kitagawa added a third goal for her team just before halftime.

With this result, Nigeria exits the tournament without a win, following a 16-year absence from the Olympics.

Meanwhile, World Cup champions Spain secured a 1-0 victory over Brazil, finishing at the top of the table with three wins out of three.

Both Japan and Spain advance to the quarterfinals.
