NSCDC Lagos Commandant Summons Urgent Meeting Ahead of Planned Nationwide Protest

Following a  directive from the Corps’ Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to prepare for the proposed nationwide protest, the Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Adedotun Keshinro has convened an urgent management meeting on Wednesday at the State Headquarters. 

The meeting included all heads of formations, departments, units, tactical and special units, and officers overseeing various operations across the state. 

Commandant Keshinro emphasized the command’s readiness to protect lives and property during the protest and urged citizens to continue their daily activities without fear. Heads of departments and units were instructed to ensure strict supervision and implement adequate logistical measures during this critical period. 

He warned against any acts of vandalism targeting critical national assets and infrastructure and called on citizens to provide credible intelligence to help prevent economic sabotage. 

In his address to the media, Commandant Keshinro called on citizens to assist the NSCDC by providing credible and actionable intelligence. He emphasized that such cooperation is vital to preventing economic sabotage and the vandalism of critical national assets and infrastructure, which could exacerbate the hardships faced by innocent citizens.

Commandant Keshinro reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to maintaining law and order and protecting the citizens of Lagos State. He assured that the command would continue to work tirelessly to uphold security and public safety before, during, and after the planned nationwide protest.
