SWAN Commends Taraba Youths Over Peaceful Protest

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Taraba State Chapter, has commended the youth of Taraba State for their exemplary conduct during the recent nationwide protests. 

This is contained in a press release signed by the association’s Secretary, Charles Akpeji, and issued to newsmen in Jalingo on Sunday 4th August 2024.

The statement reads in parts: “Unlike in other parts of the country where protests were marred by violence and destruction, the demonstrations in Taraba were peaceful and orderly.

“We applaud the youth for their maturity and restraint and encourage them to continue fostering peace and harmony in our dear state.

“It is essential to engage in actions that support the development of Taraba and avoid activities that could undermine their aspirations.

“The #EndBadGovernment protest in Taraba State was conducted peacefully, setting a positive example for others across the nation. 

“We urge all young people to remain committed to peaceful advocacy and constructive dialogue.

“We also commend the Taraba State government under the leadership of Governor Agbu Kefas for its commitment to providing succour to the people, as well as the security agencies for maintaining law and order in the state.  It concluded.
