Governor Aiyedatiwa Inaugurates Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General, Urges Public Service Efficiency

Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has inaugurated four Permanent Secretaries and three Tutors-General, charging them to make a significant impact on the state’s public service. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s office in Akure.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Mrs. Yemi Pirisola, Mr. Idowu Ojo, Mr. Olaleye Philip, and Alhaji Mudashiru Adegbegha. The Tutors-General include Mr. Adebayo Ajimuda, Mrs. Owoka Adedamolola, and Dr. Akanke Idowu Asogbon.

Addressing the officials, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of the appointments in line with his administration’s goal of fostering a dynamic and effective public service. “A decision like this which is in the best interest of the State Public Service is anchored on several considerations,” he noted, citing the need to fill key positions and motivate the bureaucracy through promotion opportunities.

The Governor also underscored the role of the public service in implementing his administration’s development agenda, stressing the need for accountability, competence, and transparency. “The public service is a key ally in our developmental journey, and we need it to be at its best,” Aiyedatiwa stated.

He urged the newly inaugurated officials to lead by example and ensure the delivery of quality services in their respective areas. In addition, he expressed gratitude to the state’s workforce for maintaining industrial peace and reiterated his commitment to their welfare, including the timely payment of salaries and pensions.

Mrs. Yemi Pirisola, speaking on behalf of the appointees, thanked the Governor for the trust placed in them, promising to serve diligently and support the government in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Ondo State.
