Ondo State Declares Work-Free Day for Public Servants Ahead of Governorship Election

Ahead of the 2024 Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, the Ondo State Government has declared Friday, November 15, 2024, as a work-free day. This decision aims to support public servants in traveling to their home communities to exercise their civic duty.

A government representative emphasized the importance of the move, stating, “This day off provides public servants with an opportunity to participate in the democratic process without the hindrance of work obligations.”

In an official circular signed by Femi Ayodele, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, the state instructed all Accounting Officers across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to ensure that staff members are informed. “All public servants must take note and use this time to engage in the civic responsibilities that shape our future,” the statement added.
