The bustling city of Lagos is gearing up for the highly anticipated Lagos Shopping Festival, a 72-hour shopping and entertainment spectacle, which kicks off tomorrow, Monday, December 23, at the iconic Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture in collaboration with Chain Reaction Ltd., the event promises an unforgettable experience for residents and tourists alike.

Speaking ahead of the festival, Mr. Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, described the event as a unique opportunity to blend retail, culture, and entertainment.

“The Lagos Shopping Festival will feature over 500 vendors, offering a vibrant mix of local artisans and internationally-renowned brands,” Aregbe revealed in a statement on Sunday. “From fashion and electronics to gourmet food and home decor, shoppers can expect exclusive discounts, incredible deals, and a world-class shopping experience.”

The festival, which runs from December 23 to 25, will also spotlight Lagos’ rich cultural heritage. Aregbe emphasized the festival’s dual purpose: celebrating local craftsmanship and connecting small businesses to global markets.

He added, “This event will not only boost the retail and fashion sectors but also showcase the artistry and craftsmanship of our local artisans. It’s a platform that bridges small businesses with established brands while offering entertainment to drive trade.”

Beyond shopping, attendees can look forward to live performances, food stalls, and other forms of entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere for families and individuals alike.

“The Lagos Shopping Festival is more than just a shopping event,” Aregbe noted. “It’s a celebration of Lagos’ vibrant culture, creativity, and commerce. Don’t miss the chance to experience the best of the city and kickstart your holiday shopping with fantastic discounts and exciting entertainment.”
