The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has strongly condemned the rising cases of ritual killings, kidnappings, fraudulent practices, and other criminal activities in Nigeria. The State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, made this declaration on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, during the maiden Ramadan Public Lecture organized by the Command’s Muslim Community at its headquarters.
“These acts are not just unlawful but worrisome and barbaric. It is unacceptable that some unscrupulous elements in our society take the lives of fellow citizens for selfish and evil gains,” Keshinro stated.
He urged Lagos residents to embrace the virtues of the Holy Quran and the Bible, emphasizing love, unity, patience, and vigilance, especially during the Ramadan and Lent periods.

The event’s guest lecturer, Dr. Nurudeen Ibrahim, reinforced the importance of upholding the sanctity of human life. “The unlawful taking of human life remains abominable, inhumane, and condemnable in any society. We must collectively shun these barbaric acts that have become prevalent across the country,” he said.
Honourable Abdulkareem Jubril, Chairman of the event and member representing Agege II, commended the NSCDC Lagos Command for organizing the intellectual discourse. “This is a crucial step in enlightening the public against the evils of vandalism, kidnapping, and ritual killings,” he remarked.

The event was attended by key dignitaries, including the representative of the Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief (Dr.) Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, and Sheikh (Dr.) Ahmad Olanrewaju Al-Fulani. Security agencies such as the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Nigeria Correctional Service, and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were also present, alongside members of the press, in a collective effort to promote the value of human life in Nigeria.
