Hundreds of HIV advocates and allies will convene in the nation’s capital from March 31 to April 2, 2025, for AIDSWatch 2025, the largest constituent-led federal advocacy event focused on HIV policy. With over 500 participants scheduled for more than 200 congressional meetings, the event aims to defend critical HIV programs amid proposed federal budget cuts that threaten services like Medicaid and the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.
Under the theme “Preserving our Health and PrEParing for the Future!”, this year’s AIDSWatch will emphasize the urgency of protecting existing HIV services while expanding access to PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and other prevention tools. The event will also highlight the importance of health equity and ensuring that the voices of those affected by HIV are central to policy discussions.
Founded 32 years ago, AIDSWatch has grown into a key advocacy platform, advancing the national goal of ending the HIV epidemic by 2030. Over three days, participants will receive training from leading experts, engage with policymakers, and push for policies that support the 1.2 million Americans living with HIV.
The event is presented by AIDS United, in partnership with the U.S. People Living with HIV Caucus and the Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation, with major support from Gilead Sciences, Merck Pharmaceuticals, and other benefactors.
