NAWOJ Lagos Congratulates Bajulaye on Appointment as Permanent Secretary

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has congratulated Mr Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye on his appointment as the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

A delegation from NAWOJ Lagos, led by its Chairperson, Dr. Adeola Ekine, visited Mr. Bajulaye at his office in Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, on Thursday, March 24, to present an official congratulatory letter and commend his dedication to public service.

Dr. Ekine lauded Mr. Bajulaye’s leadership and commitment to ethical journalism, highlighting his long-standing support for the association. “His appointment is well-deserved, given his professionalism and passion for public service. As a He-for-She Ambassador, he has been a strong advocate for gender inclusivity and the advancement of women in journalism,” she stated.

She expressed confidence that his tenure would bring innovation to the ministry, noting his open-door policy and strategic approach to governance.

In his response, Mr. Bajulaye thanked NAWOJ Lagos for the recognition and reiterated his commitment to supporting gender equity in journalism. “The media plays a crucial role in nation-building, and I am committed to strengthening collaboration between the government and journalists to drive societal progress,” he said.

He also assured NAWOJ of continued partnership in capacity building, advocacy, and public enlightenment to foster a more inclusive and ethical media landscape.

NAWOJ members at the visit commended Mr. Bajulaye’s dedication to gender-inclusive governance and expressed optimism about the impact of his leadership on both the media and the tourism sector.

The association reaffirmed its mission to champion female journalists’ interests and looks forward to working with Mr. Bajulaye in promoting sustainable tourism development and media advocacy.
