Chad, one of the five countries in the Multinational Joint Task Force, is considering withdrawing its troops as a result of an attack on one of its military camps. Experts say this move could destabilize the region on one hand, and, on the other hand, an influx of external forces could introduce a new set of complications.
The situation is a tricky one.
Dr. Ahmad Yahuza Getzo, the managing director at Eagles Integrated Security and Logistical Company Limited, Abuja, and Brigadier General Sani Usman Kuka (retired), a former Nigerian Army spokesman and an expert in military strategy, shared their views on this.
