Veritas University, Bwari, Abuja, in collaboration with Apollos University, Florida, USA, is set to host its Eighth Inaugural Lecture on April 23, with Nigeria’s Vice President, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, expected as the special guest of honour.
The event, themed “Reinventing Leadership: Strategies for Organisational Re-engineering and Entrepreneurial Success,” will be delivered by Prof. Gabriel Okenwa, a distinguished legal scholar and the Executive Director of Administration at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
According to a statement signed by Okenwa, the lecture will hold at 12 noon in the university’s newly built Multipurpose Hall and promises to be “an intellectual gathering of national significance.”
“We are bringing together thought leaders and policymakers to engage critically on the future of leadership and innovation in both public and private sectors,” the statement read.
Other high-profile guests expected include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti; and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
The event will be chaired by former Governor of Imo State, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, and will culminate in a dinner reception and the public unveiling of Okenwa’s seventh book, “The Making of a Lawyer.”
The unveiling will be led by the Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr Adaora Umeoji, alongside NSITF Managing Director, Mr Seun Faleye.
Describing the upcoming lecture as “a celebration of academic excellence, leadership insight, and cultural pride,” Okenwa said the event reflects “a bold step towards fostering transformative leadership discourse in Nigeria.”
