Festac Town, Lagos – April 30, 2025, A young man identified simply as Eze was apprehended early Wednesday morning after allegedly stealing expensive drinks worth an estimated N350,000 from a VIP bar in a popular hotel in Festac Town, Lagos.

According to an eyewitness account, the incident occurred at exactly 6:30 AM when Eze walked into the hotel and headed straight for the VIP section. The waitress on duty approached him to inquire about his needs, to which he responded that he was expecting some friends. Satisfied with the response, the waitress returned to her duties in the restaurant area.

Moments later, Eze reportedly dashed to the bar area and took off with a bottle of Hennessy VSOP and a Moët & Chandon Brut, both high-end alcoholic beverages.

However, luck ran out on him when the hotel’s security personnel monitoring the CCTV spotted the act in real-time and quickly alerted colleagues. Eze was apprehended before he could leave the premises.

Upon interrogation, he claimed to be a graduate of Ebonyi State University and said he currently resides in a hostel run by a popular church located on Ago Palace Way in Isolo, Lagos. He cited “personal challenges” as the reason for his actions but declined to elaborate further.

Eze has since been handed over to officers at the Area E Police Command in Festac Town for further investigation.

Police are yet to release an official statement on the matter.
