Owerri, May 26, 2025 – Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the immediate removal of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Cyprian Akaolisa, as part of what government sources describe as a “minor cabinet reshuffle.”

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Mr. Declan Emelumba, on Monday.

According to the statement, Chief Akaolisa has been directed to hand over all government property in his possession to the State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice without delay.

Mr. Emelumba emphasized that the move is aimed at reinvigorating the current administration and enhancing efficiency within the cabinet. No replacement has yet been announced for the vacated position.

The reshuffle is expected to be the first in a series of adjustments within the governor’s team as he seeks to consolidate his administration’s agenda.
