Awoniyi back with a statement after return from injury

1 Mins read

Taiwo Awoniyi was on target for Nottingham Forest as he made a return from injury to compound the woes of Westham United.

An elated Awoniyi who scored in the final minutes of the first half, celebrated with an inscription on his shirt ki lé n f’lorun pe (what do you call God) as he got his sixth goal in 14 premier League matches for Forest this season.

Manager Nuno Espirito said Forest are still struggling on Awoniyi’s fitness despite handing him a start, but added that the medical team will do their best to manage him.

The Nigerian forward was one of the players that did not make it to the Africa cup of nations due to injury.

The celebration from the stands showed how important the win is for the team, after losing six of their last seven home matches, which has drowned them in relegation waters.
