The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has strongly dismissed allegations that Nigeria and other member states are involved in sponsoring terrorism. In a statement, the ECOWAS Commission expressed deep concern over the unfounded claims, reiterating its firm support for Nigeria and its regional partners.

The Commission highlighted Nigeria’s long-standing role in promoting peace and security across the African continent, pointing to its leadership in the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), which has achieved significant successes in combating terrorism in the region. ECOWAS called on all member states to engage in dialogue and avoid baseless accusations that undermine regional stability.
