Ghana eliminated from 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers

1 Mins read

The Copper Queens of Zambia have secured a spot in the next round of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers after defeating Ghana’s Black Queens 4-3 on aggregate in a two-legged encounter.

Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat in the first leg, Ghana remained confident of providing tough competition for their opponents at the Levy Mwanawasa Sports Stadium to secure a spot in the final round.

However, goals from Gifty Assifuah, Doris Boaduwaa, and Azumah Bugre were not sufficient to secure victory for Ghana after 90 minutes.

The match ended in a thrilling six-goal encounter, with Banda scoring a late equalizer to conclude the game 3-3 and propel Zambia to the final round of qualifiers. There, they will face Morocco in April.
