Handball: Nigeria earn bragging rights over Ghana

Nigeria’s under 18 national team were victorious against host Ghana in the Youth category of the IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3 Phase on Wednesday.

The brotherly rivalry between the two sides continued as the first half ended with Nigeria closely edging the Ghanaians 14-12 despite the end to end situation that kept fans at the edge of their seats.

The second half continued pretty much the same way but Kareem Farouk was at his best as Nigeria under 18 teams made it two victories at a bounce as they overcame Ghana 31-26 in the presence of their fans.Kareem Farouk was rightly awarded the most outstanding player of the match.

Nigeria’s under 18 men team will play Togo on Thursday at 2pm while Nigeria’s under 20 men team, who greatly supported their under 20 brothers against Ghana, will play their second match against Benin Republic at 8pm.
