Flamingos striker Chidi Harmony is optimistic Nigeria will humble Burkina Faso U-17 girls in Abuja.

Nigeria’s U17 girls, the Flamingos, are back in Nigeria after their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso’s U17 girls in Bamako, Mali on Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Ahead of the second leg, forward Chidi Harmony, who also plays for Imo Strikers, is positive they can turn the result around.

“We missed many chances when we played away, but I believe that coming back home, we can get the result. I believe that we will not concede any goals again,” she said.

Meanwhile, head coach Bankole Olowookere is also confident the girls will get the job done and has solicited support from the fans.

“All we are asking for is support from the stands. Our objective is not only to win the ticket but to go to the World Cup and surpass our last outing of a third-place finish in India in 2022.”

Victory over the Burkinabes will set the Flamingos up for the final qualifying fixture against the winner of the Senegal/Liberia match. The Senegalese lead 3-1 going into the second leg in Monrovia this weekend.
