Finidi George has stepped down as the head coach of the Super Eagles after just four games in charge. Finidi took over as interim manager after Jose Paseiro’s departure, following the team’s second-place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

During his brief tenure, he oversaw two friendlies and two World Cup qualifiers, including a draw against South Africa and a loss to Benin Republic.

The underwhelming results in the World Cup qualifiers reportedly didn’t sit well with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and fans, leading to the decision to bring in a foreign technical expert.

According to sources, Finidi has tendered his resignation, although the NFF is yet to issue an official statement confirming his departure.
