In a move to enhance workforce efficiency and align public service with its Smart City agenda, the Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training has commenced a two-day workshop for management staff across various cadres.

The workshop, themed “Managing People for Strategic Advantage in the Public Service,” is being held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa, with 100 participants in attendance.

Declaring the workshop open, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, emphasized the crucial role of effective people management in public service.

“Effective people management is at the heart of every successful public institution. The ability to nurture talent, build cohesive teams, and align human resources with organizational goals is what transforms a functional workforce into a truly high-performing one,” Abidakun stated.

She encouraged participants to maximize the learning experience, describing it as an opportunity to enhance leadership, motivation, and strategic workforce planning skills.

Abidakun also lauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing human capital development and ensuring the necessary funding for such initiatives.

The workshop is expected to equip participants with practical strategies to improve public service delivery in Lagos State.
