The Lagos State Government has reiterated its dedication to quality education, with Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Tolani Sule, highlighting the importance of international collaboration at the European Union Students Fair held on Saturday at the Federal Palace Hotel, Ikoyi.
Speaking at the event, which brought together students from Lagos State-owned institutions and beyond, Sule emphasized the administration’s commitment to global educational opportunities.
“We are committed to providing our students with access to quality education, both locally and internationally. Our partnership with the European Union is a testament to the current administration’s dedication to excellence in education,” he stated.

Sule further informed the gathering, which included European Union representatives and students, that the Lagos State Government has launched several initiatives to enhance graduates’ readiness for the global job market. “Through programmes like the EKO Digital Skills Programme and the Job Initiative Lagos, we are equipping our students with essential skills in digital technology, entrepreneurship, AI, and job readiness,” he added.
The European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ambassador Gautier Mignot, encouraged students to maximize the opportunities available in EU universities. “Many Nigerian students are already thriving in European institutions. This is an opportunity to expand your knowledge and career prospects,” he said.
The European Union Students Fair, an annual initiative, aims to foster educational exchange between Nigeria and Europe. It featured exhibitions from top EU universities, providing students with vital information on scholarships, career paths, and study opportunities abroad.
