Lagos emergency authorities will begin a victim enumeration exercise on Sunday for people affected by last month’s fire at the Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) House on Martins Street, Lagos Island, as part of post-incident recovery efforts.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), working with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said relatives of victims and other affected individuals are expected to present themselves at the Adeyemi Bero Centre, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, between Feb. 9 and Feb. 13.

The exercise is aimed at documenting those impacted by the blaze to support recovery planning, assistance and follow-up actions, the agency said.
Emergency officials urged the public to cooperate with personnel on the ground, adding that further updates would be communicated as the process continues.
LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said the enumeration was a key step in ensuring affected families are properly identified and supported in the aftermath of the incident.
