Troops of Sector 3 under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have struck a major blow against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in Kukawa and Monguno areas of Borno State. The coordinated assault resulted in the elimination of five terrorists and the recovery of critical assets.

The terrorists launched an offensive using suicide Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs), but were overpowered by superior firepower from the MNJTF. Intense air and artillery bombardments, combined with a ground assault, forced several insurgents to flee with gunshot wounds.

During the operation, air assets destroyed three VBIEDs, while ground troops captured 40 motorbikes armed with weapons, including four anti-aircraft guns and a rocket-propelled grenade. Tragically, three soldiers lost their lives in the encounter.
