MNJTF Troops Deal Heavy Blow to ISWAP Terrorists in Borno State

Monguno, Nigeria – Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) under Sector 3 have achieved significant victories during ongoing clearance operations in Kukawa, Borno State.

In a joint effort with hybrid forces and air component support, the troops intercepted and neutralized fleeing wounded ISWAP terrorists and seized an additional cache of weapons. The air component successfully targeted regrouping armed terrorists on motorbikes in Guzamala, while ground troops followed up by eliminating 15 terrorists and capturing one alive.

The operation also saw the destruction of three Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs), raising the total destroyed to seven. Recovered weapons included seven AK-47 rifles, an RPG bomb and tube, two anti-aircraft guns, and 152 Shilka rounds of ammunition.
