NNPCL: Tinubu reappoints Mele Kyari GCEO

The Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new Board and Management team for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) with effect from December 1, 2023.

The re-appointment was in allignment with Section 59 (2) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021.

Recently it was announced that the NNPCL would end importation of petrol into Nigeria at the end of 2014.

The development is expected to push down the pump price of petrol from the almost N600 per litre.

Mele Kolo Kyari OFR was born on 8 January 1965. He is a Nigerian geologist, crude oil marketer and 1st Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the NNPC limited.

Before his appointment, Kyari was the Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division of the NNPC and the Nigerian National Representative at the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) since 2018.
