Ondo State Governor Aiyedatiwa affirms commitment to civil service welfare

In a recent interactive session at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in Akure, Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the welfare of civil servants in the state.

During the session held on Monday, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, and all Accounting Officers for their consistent support. He acknowledged the collective efforts that have sustained the administration, succeeding his late predecessor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON.

Addressing the Accounting Officers, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized their crucial role in managing both human and material resources within their respective MDAs. He urged them to consider themselves integral to the government, responsible for the effective execution of government programs.

Highlighting the significance of a capable bureaucracy, the Governor stated, “No administration can fly higher than the delivery capacity and capability of its Bureaucracy.” He assured that the welfare of public servants remains a top priority, confirming the approval of outstanding January 2017 salary arrears and the continuation of palliative transport for public servants.

Governor Aiyedatiwa affirmed his commitment to motivating workers for optimum performance and announced upcoming appointments of new Permanent Secretaries based on merit and in alignment with existing vacancies and needs.

The Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, expressed appreciation for the Governor’s support and pledged the civil service’s loyalty to the new administration, recognizing the positive strides made since Governor Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration.
