Oshoala Makes History in NWSL Debut with Bay FC

1 Mins read

It was a sellout home crowd at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday and was also a perfect time for Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala to create history for newly promoted Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League.

The former Barcelona Femení star scored the first goal in Bay FC history in their  1-0 victory over Angel City.

Bay FC’s Tess Boade picked off a pass up the field and found Oshoala in the box. Oshoala tucked it away in the 17 minutes while Angel City toiled all afternoon but couldn’t get past the defense of the home side.

An elated Oshoala said “My career has always been about making history, and I am very happy to be a part of the history at this club,”

She has featured in 11 matches with 8 goals, 2 hatrick and 3 goals down the top scorer in the league.
