The Regalo Hope Foundation (RHF) on Saturday joined the global community to mark the 2025 World Teachers’ Day, celebrating educators’ resilience and unveiling plans for its 2026 EduStake Conference and Educators’ Award.

Held in Igando, Lagos, the seminar brought together more than 50 teachers and proprietors from both public and private schools for hands-on training sessions under the theme “Techniques for Structured Classroom.”

The 2025 World Teachers’ Day, themed “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” emphasises teamwork and shared responsibility in strengthening teacher development and improving learning outcomes.

RHF Founder, Dr Chinenye Onuorah, said the seminar was designed to equip teachers with leadership and project management skills that would enable them to drive positive change in their schools.

“This year’s theme underscores the need for collaboration among teachers, parents, and communities in unlocking learners’ potential and reshaping education in Nigeria,” she said.

“Beyond the chalkboard, your integrity, kindness, and professionalism shape lives in ways that transcend academics,” Onuorah added.

She also congratulated new inductees into the Teachers’ Leadership Academy (TLA), an RHF initiative promoting continuous professional growth, describing them as visionary educators committed to leadership, innovation, and lifelong impact.

Onuorah further announced that preparations were underway for the 2026 EduStake Conference to be held in Alimosho, which will serve as a dialogue platform for education stakeholders.

According to her, the upcoming event will also feature the Educators’ Award, honouring outstanding teachers with the Legend’s Award for over 25 years of service and Heroes Awards for exceptional TLA associates.

“These awards show that excellence and innovation in teaching are valued and celebrated,” she said.

Mrs Amusu Rehanat, a certified project management professional and guest speaker, described teachers as nation-builders who must adopt structured classroom leadership and project management skills.

“Every profession begins with a teacher. A structured classroom supports effective teaching and strengthens participation,” she said, adding that effective management fosters better engagement and learning outcomes.

RHF Communication Manager, Oreoluwa Abiodun, called for stronger collaboration between government, NGOs, and parents to improve education quality and ensure children’s holistic development.

“Parents must not abandon their role to teachers; they should monitor schoolwork, ensure assignments are done, and instil sound morals,” Abiodun advised.

Participants at the event also shared their thoughts on the role of educators in shaping society.

Mrs Olaniyan Victoria, a participant, urged greater recognition for teachers as parents, counsellors, and mentors guiding students toward a brighter future.

“Intentional and creative teaching now defines education’s future beyond conventional methods,” she said.

Another participant, Mr Elijah Akhabigimhe, noted that a teacher’s greatest joy lies in seeing students succeed in life.

“Educators should teach passionately and inspire lasting achievements,” he encouraged.

Similarly, Mrs Gene Lilian emphasised the need for continuous teacher development and government investment in artificial intelligence (AI) training and education innovation.

“Teachers must constantly update themselves to remain relevant in today’s evolving learning environment,” she said.

The seminar concluded with a renewed call for unity, collaboration, and professional growth among educators to strengthen the future of teaching and learning in Nigeria.
