Storey Building Collapses in Orile Iganmu; No Casualties Reported

The Collapsed Storey Building at Orile Iganmu

A storey building at No. 20 Amusu Street, Baale, Orile Iganmu, has collapsed due to its deteriorating condition, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed. Despite prior warnings, residents had remained in the building until the structure eventually gave way.

Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, stated: “Fortunately, all occupants escaped unscathed, ensuring no casualties from the collapse.”

Emergency Responders at work.

Emergency responders, including the LRT, LASG Fire, LASBCA, and the Nigeria Police Force, have cordoned off the site, while adjacent buildings are being evacuated to prevent further incidents.

Operations to clear the collapse site are ongoing.
