NSCDC Transfers 5 Suspects, Seizes Illegal Fuel Depot Holding 65,000 Litres of Diesel

The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft handed over five suspects, including Mr. Ahmed Ariyo, an illegal storage facility, and approximately 65,000 liters of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command. The handover took place after preliminary investigations by the Navy.

Commodore Rafiu Taye Oladejo, Commander of NNS Beecroft, transferred the suspects and seized items to Mr. Adedotun Sunday Keshinro, the Commandant of NSCDC, Lagos State, at the crime scene in Lekki axis. Emphasizing the NSCDC’s role in prosecuting oil pipeline vandalism, Commander Oladejo stressed the importance of allowing them to conduct further investigations.

Mr. Keshinro, the NSCDC Lagos State Commandant, reiterated the commitment to apprehending saboteurs targeting critical national assets and infrastructure. Despite ongoing campaigns against such criminal activities, he acknowledged the persistence of some individuals but assured continued efforts to combat the illicit trade.

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Keshinro commended the collaborative efforts between NSCDC and NNS Beecroft. He assured the public of immediate follow-up investigations and promised thorough prosecution procedures to ensure perpetrators face justice in court.
