SWAN Taraba New Officials Visit Commissioner of Sports, Amb. Joshua

The Taraba State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Amb. Joseph Joshua, has reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to strengthening its partnership with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in the state.

Amb. Joshua made this commitment during a courtesy visit by the newly elected executives of SWAN to his office at the state Secretariat in Jalingo.

In his address, Amb. Joshua congratulated the new SWAN leadership and emphasized the importance of enhancing the collaboration between the ministry and the association. He urged sports writers to improve their coverage of sporting events across Taraba, especially given the state government’s active role in organizing and participating in various sports competitions over the past year.

He also highlighted the current administration’s focus on prioritizing the sports sector to create job opportunities for the youth under Governor Agbu Kefas.

The Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the dedication of his Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Indo Markson, and the ministry’s management team. He encouraged the SWAN leadership to maintain open communication with the Permanent Secretary in case he is unavailable.

During the visit, SWAN State Chairman, Comrade Sulaiman Sani, pledged to strengthen the association’s relationship with the ministry and assured of enhanced publicity for sports activities in the state. He commended Governor Kefas for his commitment to sports development and praised Amb. Joshua’s appointment, recognizing his vast experience and contributions to youth development.

The visit concluded with a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
