NSCDC and FRSC Commanders Reaffirm Commitment to Road Safety in Lagos

In a meeting held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, welcomed the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Patrick Davou, at the NSCDC headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja. 

During the meeting, Commandant Keshinro emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the NSCDC and the FRSC in Lagos, pledging to provide operational support to the FRSC. He stated, “Our unwavering partnership with the FRSC is crucial for reducing road accidents and enhancing safety on our roads. We are committed to boosting the morale of FRSC officers during critical assignments, which will, in turn, help reduce avoidable road crashes and save lives.”

Corps Commander Patrick Davou also addressed the meeting, highlighting the dangers of over speeding as a leading cause of road accidents. “Over Speeding remains a significant factor in many of the tragic accidents we see on our roads. I urge motorists to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits at all times,” he said.

Commander Davou expressed gratitude to the NSCDC for their ongoing support and called for continued collaboration in tackling other forms of illegal activities involving vehicles on Lagos roads. “The longstanding synergy between our services has been invaluable, and I look forward to even stronger cooperation as we work together to enforce safety and combat vehicular crimes,” he added.
