The Assistant Commandant General in charge of Investigation at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), National Headquarters, Abuja, ACG Makinde Iskil Ayinla, visited the Lagos State Command on Tuesday to monitor activities, conduct, and operational performance of personnel.
During his visit, ACG Ayinla, who also supervises the Corps for the nationwide protest in the Southwest, addressed the command’s management in an urgent meeting. He conveyed a goodwill message from the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, praising the personnel’s performance before and during the protests. “The quality conduct and performance of the Lagos Command’s personnel have been exemplary,” Ayinla stated.
He urged the Heads of Departments and Units to continue supporting the State Commandant to maintain peace. “Ensure you give your best support to sustain the peace already achieved at this critical time,” he said. Ayinla also warned against “complacency, indolence, indiscipline, and unprofessionalism” among officers, stressing that these standards should be upheld across all formations in the state.
State Commandant Mr. Adedotun Keshinro welcomed ACG Ayinla, expressing appreciation for the visit. “This further shows the love the Commandant General has for all State Commands, and we appreciate him for extending the same to our dear State,” Keshinro remarked. He also highlighted the command’s operational deployments to protect critical national assets and infrastructure, ensuring strengthened security during and after the protests.
The visit by ACG Ayinla underscores NSCDC’s commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and security, especially during crucial periods.
