Proper and regular hand washing helps prevent and reduce the spread of infections,” Dr. Oniyire stated.

Dr. Oniyire also highlighted other preventive measures, including proper waste management and segregation, water and food hygiene, and maintaining a clean and healthy environment. “IPC is about preventing and controlling the spread of infections by putting systems and processes in place to prevent the outbreak of diseases,” she explained.
