A tragic incident occurred on Friday, October 18, as a Police Inspector attached to the OPG Head Office in Ikeja, Lagos, reportedly took his own life at his residence in Ikorodu. The shocking event, which has left the community in distress, was first reported by The SUPREME, a security-focused portal, revealing that the Inspector hanged himself at his home in Iteswaju CDA, off Eri Road, Isiwu.

According to the report, the inspector’s son was the one who discovered his father’s body. He had been sent on an errand by his father, and upon returning home, found him hanging from a ceiling fan. In a state of disbelief, the son reportedly tried to get his father’s attention, but quickly realized that he had already passed away.

The devastated son immediately reported the incident at Imota Police Station in Ikorodu around 2 pm on the same day. Police detectives, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, promptly arrived at the scene and transported the Inspector’s body to a nearby mortuary for an autopsy.

As of the time of this report, the police have yet to officially comment on the Inspector’s death. Investigations are ongoing, and the community is waiting for further details surrounding the cause of the tragic suicide.
