Representative oF NSCDC Lagos State Commandant Presents Fellowship Member Award of ICSS to Professor Adewunmi Falode at ICSS Conference.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, joined prominent figures at the maiden International Security Conference of the Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies of Nigeria (ICSSN). Held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Afe Babalola Hall, University of Lagos, the event showcased critical discussions under the theme: “Harmony in Security: Bridging the Gap between Theory and Practice.”
The highlight of the conference was the decoration of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Adegoke Fayoade as a Distinguished Fellow Member of the Institute.

Retrd. CG Ade Abolurin Discusses Ways Forward Out of Present Security Conundrum In Nigeria at ICSS International Security Conference.

The honor was bestowed by Dr. Ade Abolurin, former Commandant General of the NSCDC and Chairman of the ICSS Governing Council.
In his keynote address, AIG Fayoade emphasized the importance of security agencies forging effective partnerships with private organizations. “Collaboration with the corporate world is critical in creating innovative solutions to tackle our security challenges,” he noted.

The conference, graced by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, as the Special Guest of Honour, brought together esteemed academics and security experts, including Professor Folashade Ogunsola, the first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, and Emeritus Professor Omololu Soyombo, among others.

Dr. Abolurin, in his welcome address, called for strengthened collaboration within the security architecture of the nation. “Building bridges among our security agencies is not just an option; it is a necessity for achieving lasting peace and stability,” he remarked.

Speaking on the significance of the event, NSCDC Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, said, “Conferences like this are crucial, especially now, when our nation’s troubled spots demand solutions that foster peace and safety for businesses and individuals alike.”

The conference also witnessed the participation of various security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Correctional Service, and others.
