It was a carnival-like atmosphere at Akure Airport on Thursday as Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, alongside his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, was welcomed by a jubilant crowd after receiving their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja.

The celebratory mood continued with singing, dancing, and cheers from supporters, marking a resounding victory in last Saturday’s governorship election.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed heartfelt gratitude. “I am still very overwhelmed with joy and I appreciate God Almighty who made it possible. I also thank the people of Ondo State who have renewed this mandate through their votes,” he said.

The Governor emphasized that the triumph belongs to the people, stating, “This victory is not for me alone but for all of us in Ondo State.”

As he looks ahead, Aiyedatiwa promised a governance style that prioritizes the welfare of the citizens. “We will consider the people’s interest first in any policy we make, double our efforts in ensuring that the people are comfortable, and ensure that all sectors of the State are developed,” he assured.

He urged continued support from residents, signaling readiness to move swiftly into action. “Now that the electoral process is complete, it is time to settle down to the business of governance,” the Governor concluded.
