Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his commitment to driving significant development across the state following his resounding victory in the November 16 governorship election. Governor Aiyedatiwa made this pledge in Abuja at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters, where he received his certificate of return alongside his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami.

Expressing his gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their massive support, the Governor said, “I cannot but express my overwhelming gratitude to the people of Ondo State who came out en masse on the 16th of November, 2024, to cast their votes for our party, the APC, and by extension, for myself and my deputy in that governorship election.”

Highlighting the trust reposed in him, he added, “The mandate you have just renewed via your huge votes across the 18 local governments of Ondo State has placed a burden on me to serve you better than I have done in the last ten months.”

Governor Aiyedatiwa also lauded INEC for conducting what he described as one of the most peaceful elections in the nation’s history. “INEC deserves commendation for conducting a fair, transparent, credible, and conclusive election. This election is a testament to the progress of democracy in Nigeria,” he said.

The Governor equally acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership in ensuring a level playing field for all contestants. “Our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, displayed true statesmanship by being unbiased and providing a level playing ground for everyone during the election,” he noted.

This election reflects the will and aspirations of the people,” Ajayi stated.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, accompanied by leaders of the APC, later visited the party’s national secretariat to extend his gratitude to the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and other party officials.
