MNJTF Troops Repel Boko Haram/ISWAP Attack, Eliminate 10 Terrorists in Cameroon

Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) successfully repelled a coordinated attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on a military base in Darak, Cameroon, in the early hours of December 18, 2024.

The attack, which began at dawn, saw the terrorists launching assaults from multiple directions. In a fierce gun battle, Sector 1 troops neutralized six insurgents, forcing the others to flee with gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, five soldiers sustained injuries during the engagement and are currently receiving medical care.

In a swift follow-up operation, MNJTF troops ambushed the wounded fleeing terrorists near Mazogo, a village between Zamba and Djibirilli. Four more terrorists were eliminated in the ambush, bringing the total number neutralized to 10. Troops also recovered assorted food items abandoned by the insurgents.
