A two-story building under construction collapsed inside Oriwu Estate, prompting an emergency response from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed that search and rescue operations were immediately activated at the site. “So far, we have rescued five adult victims, four of whom are receiving pre-hospital care,” he stated.

Emergency responders are still on the ground, working to ensure no one remains trapped in the rubble. “Operations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided,” Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu added.

The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, but concerns over building safety regulations in Lagos have once again been raised. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident thoroughly.
