The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has commended the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbedegesin Ogunoye, and the Olukare of Ikare Akoko, Oba Akadri Saliu Momoh, CFR, CON, for their enduring leadership and contributions to their communities as they mark their coronation anniversaries.
In a message celebrating Oba Ajibade Ogunoye’s 5th coronation anniversary, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the Olowo for his dedication to fostering peace and progress in Owo.
“Kabiyesi, it feels like yesterday when the lot fell on you to lead a people bound by the umbilical cord of shared history, culture, and tradition,” the Governor said. “Undoubtedly, you have displayed rare leadership acumen in fostering peaceful coexistence among the people of Owo.”

The Governor also lauded Olowo’s support for the state government, describing him as a “major stakeholder in the Ondo project.” He prayed for continued blessings on the kingdom of Owo, adding, “I appreciate your wisdom and firm support for the Government of Ondo State.”

For Oba Akadri Saliu Momoh, who marks 40 years on the throne as the Olukare of Ikare Akoko, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the monarch’s remarkable reign and contributions to the development of Ikare Akoko, a vital commercial hub in the Akoko region.

“Two scores in the saddle is no mean achievement,” the Governor remarked. “It takes a special grace to pilot the affairs of a great community like Ikare for forty years. Oba Momoh has enriched the traditional institution with his hard-earned experience and commitment.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the Olukare’s patience and dedication, praying for continued blessings over Ikare Akoko.
“On behalf of the government and people of Ondo State, I extend my best wishes to both monarchs,” the Governor concluded, reaffirming their roles in preserving tradition, promoting unity, and contributing to the state’s growth.
