Governor of Ondo State Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to unite and intensify their commitment ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election. Speaking at the third APC Stakeholders’ meeting held at The Dome, Akure, on Thursday, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of collective efforts in securing victory for the party.
“This is the time to redouble our efforts and ensure we deliver victory for the party,” Aiyedatiwa declared, as he called on members to return to their units, wards, and local government areas to mobilize voters, particularly those feeling marginalized.
At the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa inaugurated the APC State Campaign Council, naming Abiola Makinde, a member of the House of Representatives for Ondo East/Ondo West federal constituency, as the Director General of the campaign.
Reflecting on the overwhelming turnout, the Governor expressed confidence in the party’s success. “The turnout today is a testament to the commitment our members have towards the success of APC in this election,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa also reaffirmed his administration’s inclusivity, stating, “This is the third stakeholders’ meeting, and it’s clear that we’ve upheld our promise of inclusivity as a party and as a government.”
In his acceptance speech, Makinde assured party members of his dedication to leading a successful campaign. “I promise that Ondo State will remain in the hands of APC,” he confidently stated, pledging to secure victory for the party.
State APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, also reinforced the message of unity. “Ondo is a progressive state, and we will continue to be progressive as long as we stand united,” he said, urging party members to prioritize collective success over personal interests.
The Governor announced that the official flag-off of the APC gubernatorial campaign would take place on Saturday at the Ondo City Hall in the Central Senatorial District.
In his vote of thanks, Deji Oyedele, an APC leader from the South Senatorial District, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his leadership and presence at the event.
