In a spirited campaign tour through Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area on Wednesday, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, received an enthusiastic reception as he rallied support for his upcoming re-election bid in November. The visit showcased a strong display of community solidarity and optimism, as local leaders and residents voiced their support for the Governor’s return to office.

At the first stop in Ile-Oluji, the Jegun Olu-Ekun of Ile-Oluji, Oba Olufaderin Adetimehin, lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa’s achievements and expressed confidence in his re-election. “Governor Aiyedatiwa has been divinely chosen to lead Ondo State, and we are committed to ensuring his victory,” the monarch stated. He went on to affirm the backing of Ile-Oluji’s citizens, declaring, “When the election results are announced, Your Excellency, you will see that our promises are not empty words.”

The monarch also highlighted the region’s pressing issues, particularly the shortage of electricity supply and the rise in illegal mining, calling for the governor’s support in addressing these challenges.

In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the community’s concerns and assured the residents that his administration is actively addressing illegal mining issues. “We are working diligently to tackle these challenges within the limits of available resources,” he stated, encouraging the community to rally the same level of support as seen during the primaries to ensure a decisive victory in November.

The tour continued with a visit to Oke-Igbo, where the Regent, Princess Olusola Olufunke Babajide, praised the Governor’s leadership style and expressed gratitude for his appointments of Oke-Igbo indigenes to his administration. Presenting the community’s needs, she described Aiyedatiwa as a leader with a genuine concern for the welfare of the people.

“Your Royal Highness, I deeply appreciate your prayers and words of encouragement. Rest assured, every request will be given the attention it deserves,” Governor Aiyedatiwa assured her.

Speaking on behalf of traditional rulers in the area at Bamikemo, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Akemo of Bamikemo land, Isaac Iluyomade Abiola, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s role in establishing the LCDA, noting the significant impact it would have on local development. “Without the LCDA, we would have continued to face substantial developmental setbacks”.

Governor Aiyedatiwa took the opportunity to recall the legal hurdles that delayed the LCDA’s creation but reaffirmed his administration’s resolve. He promised that infrastructure projects, particularly rural-urban roads, would soon reach the area, citing his administration’s ongoing efforts to bridge developmental gaps across Ondo State.

The Governor’s track record was praised by Hon. Festus Adefiranye, Member of the House of Representatives for Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency, who commended Aiyedatiwa’s impactful governance and assured him of the constituency’s full support. “We are confident that the APC will secure a decisive victory in the gubernatorial election,” Adefiranye stated.

The rally concluded with high hopes and fervent support for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s re-election. As his campaign gains momentum, the people of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo are optimistic about the continuity of his administration’s impact and developmental strides across the state.
